SERAMBINEWS.COM - Handicrafts (Kriya) are one of the valuable assets to meet the global market demand for distinctive Indonesian crafts.
To promote and encourage excellent craftsmanship, the National Crafts Council (Dekranas) is once again holding the Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition with the theme \"Excellent Crafts, Advanced Indonesia\" from September 13 to 17, 2023, at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).
It is known that First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and Vice President’s Wife Wury Ma’ruf Amin also attended the exhibition, which showcased hundreds of products from skilled artisans across the country.
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI, as one of the sponsors of this event, also showcased the best craft products from its MSME partners.
The Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition is a tangible effort by Dekranas to enhance the capacity of entrepreneurs and local craft products while preserving the cultural image of various regions in Indonesia. Wury Ma’ruf Amin stated that this event also provides economic benefits for Indonesia.
"Excellent crafts are not just about honoring tradition and culture but also about creating jobs, promoting sustainability, and generating significant economic benefits for Indonesia,” said Wury in her speech at the opening of Kriyanusa 2023.
Similarly, the wife of Indonesia’s Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, who also serves as the Head of Dekranas Funding, Liza Thohir, hopes that this event, which has been running for six consecutive years, will continue to support local products.
Moreover, she hopes that artisans will continue to enhance their creativity.
"The main goal of the Kriyanusa Exhibition is to support the marketing of products fostered by Dekranasda and provide a platform for the Nusantara craft industry to keep striving for creativity and innovation to improve their business performance and showcase their best products,” she stated.
BRI, recognizing the opportunity to facilitate local businesses in the handicraft sector to gain global recognition, did not miss out. Indonesia’s bank with the most customers provided four of its MSME partners the chance to showcase their products.
The four MSMEs are Craftote: Gallery & Coffee, which produces bamboo woven products and runs a coffee shop; Lion Ceramics Industry, which manufactures ceramic household products; Lampu Runa, which creates environmentally friendly and creatively designed lamps; and Maja Watch, which produces eco-friendly watches.
BRI’s Director of Consumer Business, Handayani, stated that participating in this annual Dekranas event is very valuable, especially for MSME partners. This aligns with BRI’s commitment to helping MSMEs level up and reach the global market.
"BRI is present to support the government’s program in providing financial assistance to MSMEs. The role of MSMEs in meeting community needs is very important, so we hope that the participation of BRI-supported MSMEs in Kriyanusa 2023 will further strengthen public trust in MSMEs,” she said.
This year, the exhibition highlights Betawi culture and is enlivened with various events such as talk shows, craft demonstrations, fashion shows, and cultural performances from different regions.
The Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition is also made more exciting with the Dekranas Award program, which recognizes creative entrepreneurs and artisans with the best crafts in Indonesia.
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. actively supports and participates in the Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition by showcasing the best craft products from its MSME partners.
