DKI Jakarta hosted the Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition. A total of 300 booths were presented to offer a variety of craft products ranging from fashion, accessories, jewelry, to the best home décor from across Indonesia. Carrying the theme ‘Excellent Craft, Advanced Indonesia’, this event was held at the Jakarta Convention Center, Central Jakarta, from September 13 to 17, 2023.
Ready to showcase the best works
The Acting Chairperson of the Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) of DKI Jakarta, Mirdiyanti, who was present at the opening of the Kriyanusa 2023 event, expressed her gratitude for being the host of this important national-scale activity.
“The Province of DKI Jakarta is trusted to host Kriyanusa 2023, praise be to God the artisans of DKI Jakarta have received guidance from Dekranas and this year they are ready to showcase their best works,” she said at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Wednesday (9/13), as quoted from the press release of the DKI Jakarta Provincial PPID.Mirdiyanti Heru Inaugurates Dekranasda Outlet in West Jakarta
The Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition is an important moment for artisans and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to expand their marketing scale and increase competitiveness in the global market. This is supported by showcasing various superior products from DKI Jakarta.
Head of the Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Office of DKI Jakarta, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, stated that the products displayed by DKI artisans have their own uniqueness that is ready to compete with flagship products from other provinces.
“Many excellent products are displayed, such as Betawi Batik, crafts, and Betawi souvenirs. All of these are the works of artisans who are members of Dekranasda DKI Jakarta. A total of 20 products from five (5) city regions are being showcased,” she said.
In addition, Elisabeth also introduced Dekranasda DKI products that have international quality and are ready for export. Some even passed the committee's curation to be exhibited at a world-class fashion event, Paris Fashion Week. These products include shoes by Cristin Wu, bags by Long Story Short, and crafts by Ellie Han.
“We hope this event provides motivation and innovation, as well as enhances the competitiveness of Dekranasda artisans’ products,” explained Elisabeth.
Meanwhile, Head of Business Management of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas), Sri Suparni Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that Kriyanusa is an annual routine agenda held to promote craft products from across Indonesia.
“This activity is a tangible manifestation of Dekranas' efforts in developing the capacity of craft entrepreneurs to encourage the creation and development of local craft products, while also preserving the cultural image of all regions in Indonesia,” she said.
The opening of the Kriyanusa 2023 exhibition was lively with various captivating entertainments, ranging from medley dances, a performance by artist Andien Aisyah along with Dekranas management and Dekranasda Chairpersons from all provinces in Indonesia, followed by a batik drawing activity with First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo as the Patron of Dekranas. The series of Kriyanusa 2023 activities were also enlivened by talk shows, art performances, craft demonstrations, and fashion shows.
The Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition is expected to be the first step for Indonesian MSMEs to enter the global market. With support from the government and various parties, Indonesian MSMEs are encouraged to compete with products from other countries.
