FIN.CO.ID – In commemoration of its 44th anniversary, the National Handicraft Council (Dekranas) distributed 500 affordable basic food packages to the community as a form of social concern amidst rising food and essential commodity prices.

This was conveyed by the Chairperson of Dekranas, Wury Ma’ruf Amin, who attended the 44th Dekranas Anniversary Social Service event at Rumah Kriya Asri, South Jakarta, on Sunday (03/03/2024).

"The 44-year journey of Dekranas cannot be just a ceremonial celebration. I am very pleased that this year’s thanksgiving event has a profound meaning by organizing an affordable basic food bazaar for the community around Rumah Kriya Asri at a time when the prices of essential goods are rising,” said Wury Ma’ruf Amin.

Wury added that with a spirit of togetherness and commitment, she believes Dekranas can overcome challenges well and continue to strive for its vision and mission at the end of its 2019-2024 service period.

The 44th Dekranas Anniversary celebration was marked by the cutting of tumpeng by Wury Ma’ruf Amin, symbolizing safety and togetherness within Dekranas.

Following the statement from the Chairperson of Dekranas, the Chairperson of the 44th Dekranas Anniversary Committee, Loemongga Agus Gumiwang, stated that the Social Service activity aimed to provide an opportunity for residents around Rumah Kriya Asri (Dekranas headquarters) to purchase basic food items at an affordable price of only Rp50,000 per package, which was provided for 500 underprivileged families.

"As a form of gratitude for Dekranas reaching 44 years, we are providing affordable basic food packages consisting of biscuits, milk, fried onions, instant noodles, crackers, rice, cooking oil, and sugar,” explained Loemongga.

For the main event of the 44th Dekranas Anniversary, Loemongga mentioned that it would be held in Surakarta (Solo), Central Java, on May 14-15, 2024, featuring a thanksgiving event and a micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) exhibition.

"The peak of the 44th Dekranas Anniversary will take place on May 14-15 in Solo. The event will include a thanksgiving ceremony followed by an expo inviting MSMEs from all over Indonesia,” said Loemongga.

Also present alongside Wury Ma’ruf Amin were the Executive Chairperson of Dekranas, Tri Tito Karnavian; Head of New Entrepreneurship at Dekranas, Endang Budi Karya; Head of Promotion and Public Relations at Dekranas, Dina Arie Setiadi; Head of Business Management at Dekranas, Sri Suparni Bahlil; and Member of Business Management, Liza Mustafa Abubakar.
