The Pertiwi Indonesia Community is participating in the Kriyanusa 2023 Nusantara Craft Exhibition, held at the Jakarta Convention Center from Wednesday (13/9) to Friday (15/9). At the exhibition, which was inaugurated by First Lady Iriana Jokowi, the community is showcasing various products from the MSMEs they support. "The initiatives and programs initiated by Pertiwi Indonesia are our efforts to preserve the diversity and richness of Indonesia’s cultural heritage while also responding to economic, social, and cultural conditions. This forms the foundation of our participation in this exhibition,” said Putri Kus Wisnu Wardhani, a member of the Presidential Advisory Council and Honorary Council of Pertiwi Indonesia, in an official statement.
According to Putri, Pertiwi Indonesia is an organization of women committed to improving the quality and empowerment of women within families and communities. One of its core missions is to enhance a productive, independent, competitive, environmentally friendly, and sustainable creative economy.
Putri added, "Kriyanusa 2023 is part of the broader framework of a culture-based industry sector, which is a key supporting and distinguishing element of Indonesia’s tourism sector. It also involves many MSME players, who serve as the driving force of the people’s economy.”
Rumah Pertiwi is one of the initiatives created by Pertiwi Indonesia to accommodate aspirations and provide appreciation by showcasing the works of its supported MSMEs. In collaboration with Bank Negara Indonesia, Rumah Pertiwi nurtures MSMEs producing moringa leaves in East Nusa Tenggara, palm fruit in Semarang, cassava-based products in Bogor, Jelujur embroidery weaving in Pesawaran, Lampung, and even a motorcycle workshop for people with disabilities in Jakarta.
At Kriyanusa 2023, Rumah Pertiwi presents its theme, "Pertiwi’s Bond of Love for Jakarta Becomes a Work for the Archipelago.” They feature traditional textile heritage, such as Jelujur embroidery weaving from Pesawaran, Lampung, blended with beautiful Betawi motifs. Rumah Pertiwi also offers home interior products and fashion accessories. Additionally, they showcase teak wood furniture, a heritage passed down for 400 years from Prince Jayakarta. (Ant/M-3)
