Bintan, Batamnews – The Chairperson of the Bintan National Crafts Council (Dekranas), Hafizha Rahmadhani, became a highlight at the Kriyanusa Nusantara Craft Exhibition held at the Plenary Hall of the Jakarta Convention Center on Wednesday (09/13).

In this grand event involving all provinces of Indonesia, Hafizha donned a stunning Kurung Melayu ensemble, complemented by Tudung Manto, to participate in an awe-inspiring cultural fashion show.

Appearing before First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and Vice President’s wife Wuri Ma’ruf Amin, who also serves as the Chairperson of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas), Hafizha Rahmadhani captivated the audience with a traditional Malay outfit infused with modern touches.

The attire represents the rich cultural heritage of her region, the Riau Islands.

In a post-event interview, Hafizha explained the reasoning behind her outfit choice.

"We come from an archipelagic region with a deeply rich cultural heritage. We want to show the First Lady and all of Indonesia that Malay attire with a modern touch can compete with contemporary fashion,” she expressed enthusiastically.

The Tudung Manto she wore is an invaluable intangible cultural heritage, highly cherished by the Malay community of the Riau Islands, particularly in Daik Lingga. The elegance and allure of this headscarf enhance the charm of anyone who wears it, and Hafizha showcased it beautifully.

In her speech, First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo expressed appreciation for the presence of the National Crafts Council across the regions.

She emphasized that the creativity and craftsmanship of artisans, which have even penetrated international markets, are a proud achievement for Indonesia.

Not only Hafizha, but several other Dekranasda Chairpersons from provinces and regencies/cities also showcased fashion that highlighted the unique cultural identities of their respective regions, further enlivening the Kriyanusa Nusantara Craft Exhibition.
