The National Handicraft Council (Dekranas), now in its 44th year, is conducting a social service program and an affordable bazaar, with the main event scheduled for May 14-15, 2024, in Surakarta, Central Java. The program includes a thanksgiving event, an expo inviting MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) from across Indonesia, and was attended and opened by Wury Ma’ruf Amin as the Chairperson of Dekranas. Since its establishment on March 3, 1980, Dekranas has been a key pillar in the development of handicrafts in Indonesia.

During the social service event in Jakarta on Sunday, Dekranas provided 500 affordable staple food packages, each valued at Rp 250,000 and sold for Rp 50,000, to the local community around Rumah Kriya Asri/Dekranas Headquarters in Jakarta, in collaboration with local neighborhood associations (RT, RW) and the police station.
