RADARSOLO.COM – The 44th Anniversary of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas), centered in Solo, Central Java, is expected to help boost the economic activity of Solo and its surrounding areas. Therefore, the committee hopes that participants will take the opportunity to explore the potential that Solo and its neighboring districts have to offer.

"We hope all invited guests feel comfortable. We also hope that everyone can make use of their time in Solo to visit the batik centers, craft centers, tourist attractions, or culinary spots in Solo. Happy 44th anniversary to Dekranas, may Dekranas continue to grow stronger and more empowered to realize a golden Indonesia,” said Yushinta Dewi Nana Sudjana, the Chairperson of Dekranas in Central Java.

She also expressed gratitude to the central government for visiting Central Java, particularly Solo, which is the host city for this national-scale event.

"With this event, it is hoped that artisans will become more motivated to grow their creativity, weaving, and crafts of the archipelago that are competitive, and to improve the welfare of artisans,” she said.

As information, the series of events for the 44th Dekranas Anniversary took place in Solo from Wednesday (May 15) to Saturday (May 18). The event featured various interesting activities, including the anniversary celebration, an UMKM expo, a parade, and concerts by various famous artists.

The theme this year is Growing Together to Advance the Nation's Heritage. This theme reflects the spirit of Dekranas, which was founded on March 3, 1980, and is expected to further boost crafts and culture in Indonesia.

"The purpose of this event is to commemorate the founding day of Dekranas and also to promote national craft products based on Indonesian culture,” explained Lumongga Agus Gumilang, the Chair of the Dekranas 2024 Organizing Committee. (ves/nik)
