JAKARTA, TitikNOL – The First Lady of Indonesia, Iriana Joko Widodo, made a surprise visit to the booth of the Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) of Cilegon City at the Kriyanusa 2023 Nusantara Craft Exhibition. The event, organized by the National Crafts Council (Dekranas), took place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. During her visit, First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo purchased three featured druzy stone products from the Cilegon Dekranasda booth.

The wife of the Mayor of Cilegon and Chairperson of Dekranasda Cilegon, Hany Seviatry, expressed her pride in the First Lady’s visit to the Cilegon Dekranasda booth, showcasing the city’s signature products at Kriyanusa 2023.

"We are very proud to be visited by the First Lady (Iriana Joko Widodo). Last year (2022), we didn’t get the chance to be visited. Earlier, when the First Lady was at the DKI Jakarta booth, I invited her to see Banten and Cilegon,” said Hany.

After seeing Cilegon’s signature products, Hany added that First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo purchased three featured druzy stone products.

"As far as I can see, druzy stones at the Kriyanusa Exhibition are only available at the Cilegon booth,” she stated.

According to Hany, the presence of First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo at the Cilegon Dekranasda booth was a source of motivation and confidence, reinforcing that Cilegon’s original products can compete with those from other regions.

"I want the First Lady’s visit to our booth to be an encouragement, proving that our products are just as competitive as others,” she added.

Hany explained that all the showcased products are the creations of Cilegon’s residents, including druzy stones, Krakatoa batik, various bed sheet and blanket designs, and more.

"This exhibition is part of our efforts to continuously promote the authentic products of Cilegon’s people. I hope Dekranasda continues to progress,” she concluded. (Ardi/TN).
