JAKARTA, TitikNOL – Indonesia’s First Lady, Iriana Joko Widodo, made a surprise visit to the Cilegon City Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda) booth at the Kriyanusa 2023 Nusantara Craft Exhibition. The event, organized by the National Craft Council (Dekranas), took place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. During her visit, First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo took the time to purchase three featured druzy stone products from the Cilegon Dekranasda booth.

The wife of the Mayor of Cilegon and Chairperson of Cilegon Dekranasda, Hany Seviatry, expressed her pride in the First Lady’s visit to the Cilegon Dekranasda booth to see the city’s signature products showcased at Kriyanusa 2023.

"We are very proud to be visited by the First Lady (Iriana Joko Widodo), especially since our booth was not visited last year (2022). Earlier, when the First Lady was at the DKI Jakarta booth, I invited her to take a look at Banten and Cilegon,” said Hany.

After viewing Cilegon’s signature products, Hany added, the First Lady decided to purchase three featured druzy stone products.

"I noticed that druzy stones at the Kriyanusa Exhibition can only be found in Cilegon,” she remarked.

According to Hany, the presence of First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo at the Cilegon Dekranasda booth serves as a motivation and confidence boost, proving that Cilegon’s original products can compete with those from other regions.

"I want our booth to be visited by the First Lady to encourage our artisans, showing that our products are just as competitive as others,” she stated.

Hany further explained that all the products displayed at the booth were handcrafted by the people of Cilegon, including druzy stones, Krakatoa batik, various bedspread and blanket designs, and more.

"This exhibition is part of our ongoing efforts to promote the original products of Cilegon’s artisans. I hope Dekranasda continues to grow and advance,” she concluded. (Ardi/TN).
