Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — The wife of President Joko Widodo, Iriana, officially opened the 2023 Kriyanusa Nusantara Craft Exhibition. The exhibition is being held at the Jakarta Convention Center from Wednesday, September 13, 2023, to Sunday, September 17, 2023. "With the words Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I officially open the 2023 Kriyanusa Exhibition,” said Ibu Iriana at the opening ceremony on Wednesday (13/9/2023).

This event is organized by the National Crafts Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, under the theme "Superior Crafts, Advancing Indonesia.” Iriana was accompanied by the wife of Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, Wury Ma’ruf Amin, along with several other ministers' wives, who also attended the opening ceremony.
The exhibition features a variety of local products, a fashion show, traditional Betawi dance performances, and a musical performance by singer Andien. In addition, business owners can attend a talk show on MSME business licensing with the Ministry of Investment (BKPM) and a discussion on MSME product downstreaming with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs.
Kriyanusa has been the largest craft and art exhibition in Indonesia for several years. This creative industry exhibition involves Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) fostered by Dekranas (National Crafts Council) from Sabang to Merauke. As a collaborative exhibition, Kriyanusa also involves various parties, including ministries, state-owned enterprises, and individual stakeholders.

Participants in the Kriyanusa exhibition do not have to pay a booth rental fee. However, the quality of the displayed crafts is assured, as all products must go through a curation process conducted by the regional Dekranasda (Regional National Crafts Council) team before being exhibited.
Objectives and Background of Kriyanusa
The Kriyanusa exhibition was established to preserve and ensure the continuity of Indonesia’s traditional crafts. Additionally, the event aims to expand market reach for Indonesian creative industry products, both domestically and internationally. This annual event is expected to enhance the competitiveness and enthusiasm of craft industry players.
The main goal of Kriyanusa is to promote handcrafted products from across Indonesia, thereby increasing market demand for regional crafts.
