JAKARTA – The wife of the President of Indonesia, Iriana Joko Widodo, unexpectedly visited the stand of the Cilegon City Regional Craft Council (Dekranasda) at the Archipelago Craft Exhibition (Kriyanusa) 2023, organized by the National Craft Council (Dekranas) at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC) on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
In fact, First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo took the time to purchase 3 featured druzy stone products at the Cilegon City Dekranasda stand.
The wife of the Mayor of Cilegon and also the Chairperson of the Cilegon City Dekranasda, Hany Seviatry, expressed pride over the visit of First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo to the Cilegon City Dekranas stand to see the typical products of the Steel City exhibited at the Kriyanusa 2023 event.
“We are very proud to be visited by the First Lady (Iriana Joko Widodo), because last year’s exhibition (2022) we weren’t visited. Earlier, when the First Lady was at the DKI (Special Capital Region of Jakarta) stand, I tried to invite her (Iriana Joko Widodo) to see Banten and Cilegon,” said Hany on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
After viewing the typical products of Cilegon City, Hany added, First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo purchased 3 featured druzy stone products.
“I noticed that the druzy stone at this Kriyanusa Exhibition is only available in Cilegon City,” she added.
According to Hany, the visit of First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo to the Cilegon City Dekranasda stand was an encouragement and boost of confidence that the original products of Cilegon City can compete with products from other regions.
“I hope that our stand being visited by the First Lady will inspire us, showing that our products are no less than others,” she remarked.
Hany explained that all of the products displayed are the creations of the people of Cilegon City, such as druzy stones, Krakatoa batik, various models of bed sheets and blankets, and others.
“This (exhibition) is part of our effort to continue promoting the original products of the people of Cilegon City. I hope that Dekranasda continues to progress,” she explained. (*/Red)
