The National Craft Council (DEKRANAS) is once again hosting the Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition with the theme 'Superior Craft, Advanced Indonesia.' The event will take place from September 13-17, 2023, at the Jakarta Convention Center.
The Chairperson of the Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition Committee, Sri Suparni Bahlil, stated that the event reflects Dekranas' commitment to developing the capacity of craft entrepreneurs. It aims to encourage the creation and development of local craft products while preserving the cultural heritage of all regions in Indonesia.
“This exhibition serves as a marketing platform for Dekranasda-assisted products and provides a space for the Indonesian craft industry to continue fostering creativity and innovation to improve business performance and showcase their best products,” she explained.
Local artisans are highly skilled in blending tradition and innovation to create products that captivate global markets. With their creative touch, craft products such as batik, traditional textiles (wastra), woven items, pottery, and carvings have attracted consumers worldwide. This marks an important step in Indonesia's journey toward greater progress.
“Superior crafts are not just about honoring tradition and culture but also about creating jobs, promoting sustainability, and generating significant economic benefits for Indonesia,” said Wury Ma'ruf Amin in his speech at the opening ceremony of Kriyanusa 2023.
The Kriyanusa 2023 Exhibition is further enlivened by the Dekranas Award program, which serves as recognition for creative entrepreneurs and artisans with Indonesia's best craft products and works.
“A total of 377 products have been submitted to the Dekranas Award committee, evaluated and curated by a panel of professional and independent judges,” said Liza Mustafa Abubakar, Chairperson of the Dekranas Award Committee.
The Kriyanusa 2023 event, organized by Dekranas, features participants from various regions, including artisans supported by Dekranas/Dekranasda from across Indonesia, as well as artisans assisted by Ministries, Government Institutions, and State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). Additionally, culinary stalls fill a total of 307 booths.
