Solo – First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo (Jokowi) participated in a series of events for the 44th Dekranas Anniversary, including a parade featuring decorated craft and cultural floats in the shape of Rajamala. Iriana was even seen dancing during the event.
According to detikJateng's observations, Iriana's daughter and wife of Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, Kahiyang Ayu, also attended the event. She was seen wearing a black kebaya, walking alongside her three children: Sedah Mirah, Panembahan Al Nahyan, and Penambahan Al-Saud Nasution.
The parade procession moved along Jalan Slamet Riyadi from west to east. Leading the procession were members of the palace, followed by a float decorated with Rajamala.
The Rajamala float was carrying First Lady Iriana, Vice President's wife Wury Ma'ruf Amin, Solo Mayor's wife Selvi Ananda, and members of OASE KIM. The First Lady and the ministers' wives also threw small toy balls to the crowd.
Upon stepping down from the float, Iriana and her entourage greeted the gathered residents. She also took a moment to pose for a photo in front of the Jaladara locomotive, which was used as a stage.
Later, Iriana and OASE members ascended to the honorary stage, where they watched the decorated floats and cultural parades from all provinces across Indonesia.
Iriana appeared to enjoy the music as an angklung-decorated float passed by. At one point, she even stood up and started dancing.
When the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology's float passed by carrying angklung instruments, Iriana, who had been seated, suddenly stood up and began dancing. The First Lady moved her arms and body to the rhythm.
The ministers' wives immediately followed her lead, standing up and waving to the parade participants. Solo Mayor's wife, Selvi Ananda, also stood up upon seeing Iriana dancing.
During the event, Iriana received durians from the Muara Enim Dekranasda, South Sumatra. Accompanied by her grandchildren, Jan Ethes and La Lembah Manah, the First Lady received two durians.
The 44th Dekranas Anniversary craft and cultural parade also earned a MURI (Indonesian World Records Museum) record. Initially, the award was supposed to be presented by MURI founder Jaya Suprana, but it was ultimately handed to Iriana Jokowi.
According to detikJateng, Jaya Suprana, who was already on the honorary stage, was initially asked to present the award symbolically to Endang Budi Karya Sumadi, Head of New Entrepreneurs at Dekranas. However, he insisted that Iriana Jokowi should receive it directly.
The MURI record was awarded for the longest and largest parade in Indonesia. Jaya Suprana stated that this was the first time Indonesia had held such a massive decorated float parade.
“Not only the longest in Indonesia but also in the world. I believe the most fitting person to present this award is First Lady Iriana,” he said before handing over the MURI record to Iriana Jokowi on Wednesday (May 15, 2024).
Following this, Iriana presented the MURI record to Endang Budi Karya Sumadi, accompanied by Wury Ma’ruf Amin and Tri Tito Karnavian.
Meanwhile, Endang Budi Karya Sumadi explained that the parade set a MURI record for having the highest number of decorated floats, with 102 vehicles participating.
“A total of 102 decorated vehicles were carefully crafted with craft and cultural themes, representing the unique identity and heritage of each region. This has now become the largest parade in Indonesia and has been officially recognized by MURI,” said Endang.
In addition to the 102 decorated vehicles, the parade also involved thousands of PKK (Family Welfare Movement) members from across Indonesia. At least 1,200 PKK members took part in the event, showcasing traditional attire from their respective regions.
“There were 1,200 PKK members from all over Indonesia, each wearing their regional traditional outfits,” he concluded.
