JABAROKE.COM – Solo, The 44th Anniversary of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas) and the 52nd National Family Welfare Movement (HKG PKK) will be celebrated grandly in Solo, Central Java (Jateng), from May 15-18, 2024. First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and the wife of Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, Wury Ma’ruf Amin, will attend both events.
The Daily Chairwoman of Dekranas, Tri Suswati Tito Karnavian, stated that Solo City was chosen as the venue for the 44th Dekranas Anniversary celebration since May last year. The event host is the Regional Dekranas of Central Java Province.
“We will invite all board members, the First Lady, the General Chairwoman of Dekranas, Mrs. Wury Ma’ruf Amin, along with the board members of the Organization for Solidarity Action of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet Era (OASE KIM), the central board of Dekranas, as well as the chairpersons of Dekranas and PKK throughout Indonesia,” said Tri Tito Karnavian to the media at the Lobby of Sriwedari Stadium, Laweyan, Solo, Central Java, on Sunday (May 12, 2024).
Tri added that the 44th Dekranas Anniversary celebration and the 52nd HKG PKK commemoration were held together for efficiency in time and location.
“Dekranas Anniversary is celebrated every March 3, and HKG PKK every March 4. Since I am both the Daily Chairwoman of Dekranas and the General Chairwoman of PKK, for efficiency in all aspects, we decided to hold both events in the same place, Solo, and at the same time,” explained Tri.
Additionally, Tri mentioned that this year’s celebration differs significantly from last year’s event in Medan, North Sumatra. This time, the event will be enlivened with various activities attracting more people, including parades, exhibitions, and art performances.
“The event will take place from May 15-18, 2024, but on the evening of May 14, 2024, there will be a welcome dinner at Pracima Tuin Mangkunegaran, attended by First Lady Iriana Jokowi and Vice President's wife Wury Ma'ruf Amin,” she said.
When asked about the reason for choosing Solo as the event venue, Tri explained that Solo is easily accessible from many regions in Indonesia and has adequate infrastructure to host a large-scale event.
“In the past, such events were mostly decided by the central government and often held in Jakarta. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which severely impacted artisans in the regions, we decided to hold the event in Medan. After Medan, the Central Java Provincial Government requested to be the next host, specifically in Solo, so we are holding it here,” she explained.
On this occasion, Tri also apologized to the people of Solo, as the city would be crowded with visitors from across Indonesia during the event. She also hoped that Solo residents would enjoy and participate in the 44th Dekranas Anniversary and 52nd HKG PKK celebrations.

4. Expo of MSME products fostered by Dekranas and Dekranasda at Pamedan Pura Mangkunegaran, Wednesday – Saturday (May 15-18, 2024).
5. Peak night of the National Family Welfare Movement Anniversary at Pamedan Pura Mangkunegaran, Thursday (May 16, 2024).
6. City tour in Solo, Friday (May 17, 2024).
7. Closing ceremony of the Dekranas Anniversary at Pamedan Pura Mangkunegaran, Saturday (May 18, 2024).

3. Local carbohydrate-based food cooking competition, May 14, 2024, at the Gastronomy Building, participated by provincial PKK board members.
