GERBANGPATRIOT.COM – Solo, The 44th anniversary of the National Craft Council (Dekranas) and the 52nd Family Welfare Empowerment Movement (PKK) Unity Day (HKG) will be held grandly in Solo, Central Java (Jateng), on May 15-18, 2024. First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and the wife of Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, Wury Ma’ruf Amin, will attend both events.
The Executive Chairperson of Dekranas, Tri Suswati Tito Karnavian, stated that Solo had been chosen as the venue for the 44th Dekranas anniversary since May last year. The event will be hosted by the Central Java Provincial Dekranasda.
“We will invite all board members, including the First Lady, the General Chairperson of Dekranas, Mrs. Wury Ma’ruf Amin, along with the board members of the Era Solidarity Action Organization of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet (OASE KIM), the central Dekranas board, as well as the chairpersons of Dekranas and PKK from all over Indonesia,” said Tri Tito Karnavian to the media at the Lobby of Sriwedari Stadium, Laweyan, Solo, Central Java, on Sunday (12/5/2024).
Tri added that the 44th Dekranas anniversary celebration and the 52nd PKK HKG commemoration are being held together for efficiency in time and venue.
“Dekranas' anniversary is celebrated every March 3, and PKK's HKG every March 4. Since I am both the Executive Chairperson of Dekranas and the General Chairperson of PKK, for efficiency in all aspects, we decided to hold both events in the same place and at the same time in Solo,” Tri explained.
Additionally, Tri mentioned that this year’s celebrations are significantly different from last year’s event in Medan, North Sumatra. This year’s event will be livelier with various activities that will bring together more participants. Besides the parade, there will also be exhibitions and cultural performances.
“The event starts from May 15-18, 2024, but on the evening of May 14, 2024, there will be a dinner at Pracima Tuin Mangkunegaran, attended by First Lady Iriana Jokowi and the Vice President’s wife, Wury Ma’ruf Amin,” she said.
When asked by journalists why Solo was chosen as the event’s location, Tri stated that Solo is easily accessible from many regions in Indonesia. Additionally, in terms of supporting facilities and infrastructure, Solo is considered highly suitable and ready to host a major event.
“Previously, such events were determined centrally and mostly held in Jakarta. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which greatly affected artisans in the regions, we decided to hold it outside Jakarta, in Medan. After Medan, the Central Java Provincial Government requested to be the next host, specifically in Solo, so we are holding it in Solo,” she explained.
On this occasion, Tri also apologized to the people of Solo, as the city will be crowded with visitors from all over Indonesia during the event. She also hopes that the people of Solo will enjoy and participate in the 44th Dekranas anniversary and the 52nd PKK HKG celebrations.

4. Expo of MSME products fostered by Dekranas and Dekranasda at Pamedan Pura Mangkunegaran, Wednesday – Saturday (15-18/5/2024).
5. Grand night of the Family Welfare Empowerment Movement Anniversary at Pamedan Pura Mangkunegaran, Thursday (16/5/2024).
6. City tour in Solo, Friday (17/5/2024).
7. Closing ceremony of the Dekranas Anniversary at Pamedan Pura Mangkunegaran, Saturday (18/5/2024).

2. National PKK Choir Competition, participated in by PKK provincial teams from all over Indonesia, May 14, 2024, at Balekambang Art Hall.
3. Cooking Competition for Local Food Menu as a Non-Rice Carbohydrate Source, May 14, 2024, at the Gastronomy Building, attended by provincial TP PKK administrators.
4. Creative Handwashing 6-Step Exercise Competition, attended by provincial TP PKK administrators, May 14, 2024, at Amphitheater Puro Mangkunegaran.
