SOLO, KILATSOLO.COM – First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo joined the parade celebrating the 44th anniversary of the National Handicraft Council (Dekranas) by riding the Rajamala vehicle. The event, held in the Slamet Riyadi Street area, was attended by members of the OASE Cabinet Indonesia Maju and several representatives from Dekranasda across Indonesia.

Upon arriving at the honorary stage, Iriana received an award from the Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) for the longest parade. Uniquely, the stage for the award ceremony resembled the Jaladara steam locomotive.

On this occasion, MURI Chairman Jaya Suprana stated that the event deserved a record in Indonesia.

"But in my opinion, this is also a world record because such an event, with so many vehicles and such beautiful dances, has never happened before,” he said on Wednesday (15/5/2024).

During the event, Iriana combined a kebaya outfit with a traditional Dayak headpiece.

Previously, Dekranas Executive Chairwoman Tri Suswati Tito Karnavian stated that the 44th Dekranas anniversary was also enlivened by the Indonesian Handicraft and Cultural Carnival or the decorated car parade. She mentioned that around 104 decorated vehicles and 1,250 participants from various regions, both from Dekranas and PKK throughout Indonesia, took part in the event.

"Thousands of Dekranasda administrators and PKK cadres from all over Indonesia joined in celebrating this cultural parade,” she said.
