First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo officially opened the 2023 Kriyanusa National Craft Exhibition at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, on Wednesday (09/13/2023). This annual exhibition is organized by the National Handicraft Council (Dekranas) to promote craft products from all regions of Indonesia.

“Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning, I officially open the 2023 Kriyanusa National Craft Exhibition,” said First Lady Iriana.

During the exhibition, First Lady Iriana, along with Dekranas Chairwoman Wury Ma’ruf Amin, personally presented awards to the winners of the Dekranas Award.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the 2023 Kriyanusa Exhibition Committee, Sri Suparni Bahlil, stated that the exhibition, held from September 13-17, 2023, is one of Dekranas' efforts to enhance the capacity of craft entrepreneurs.

“This exhibition is a tangible effort by Dekranas to develop the capacity of craft entrepreneurs, aiming to encourage the creation and development of local craft products while preserving the cultural heritage of all regions in Indonesia,” she explained.

Mrs. Sri mentioned that the Kriyanusa exhibition features a total of 307 exhibition stands from the Regional National Handicraft Councils (Dekranasda) of various provinces, regencies/cities, ministries, and institutions. She added that the exhibition fosters national competition in developing and showcasing Indonesia’s signature craft products.

“Most importantly, it broadens the perspectives of entrepreneurs regarding the latest design trends that align with market preferences,” said Mrs. Sri.

During the event, First Lady Iriana and members of the Organization for the Solidarity Action of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet Era (OASE KIM) enjoyed entertainment performances by the Dekranasda of DKI Jakarta, including the Lenggang Pesona Jakarta dance, musical performances, and an Indonesia-themed fashion show.

Following this, First Lady Iriana and OASE KIM members took a group photo. After the opening ceremony of Kriyanusa concluded, First Lady Iriana and OASE KIM members visited several Kriyanusa exhibition stands showcasing local craft products. (BPMI SETPRES/AIT)
