Jakarta, InfoPublik – The Indonesian National Handicraft Council (Dekranas) distributed affordable grocery packages as part of its 44th anniversary celebration, demonstrating social concern amid rising food and basic commodity prices.

This was conveyed by the Chairperson of Dekranas, Wury Estu Handayani Ma’ruf Amin, during the Social Service event for the 44th Dekranas Anniversary at Rumah Kriya Asri, Cilandak Sub-district, Pasar Minggu District, South Jakarta, on Sunday (3/3/2024).

Wury Ma’ruf Amin stated that in celebrating the 44th anniversary of Dekranas, the organization remains mindful of the importance of caring for the surrounding community at Rumah Kriya Asri by providing affordable grocery packages, rather than just expressing gratitude.

"Dekranas’ journey over the past 44 years cannot be merely a ceremonial celebration. I am very pleased that this thanksgiving event has a profound meaning by organizing an affordable grocery bazaar for the community around Rumah Kriya Asri, especially during a time of rising basic commodity prices,” said Wury Ma’ruf Amin in her speech at the Dekranas anniversary event.

She hopes that Dekranas' social service efforts can bring benefits to the community.

Wury Ma’ruf Amin expressed her gratitude to all parties who contributed to the smooth and successful execution of the event as a reflection of the government’s concern for society.

The Chairperson of the 44th Dekranas Anniversary Committee, Loemongga Agus Gumiwang, stated that the social service initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) and the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin), distributing 500 affordable grocery packages.

"Each grocery package, valued at Rp250,000, could be purchased for only Rp50,000. The distribution was carried out in three shifts at Rumah Kriya Asri,” she concluded.
