JAKARTA, TERASJAKARTA.ID – The Kriyanusa 2023 event was held at the Jakarta Convention Center, Central Jakarta.

Kriyanusa 2023, themed ‘Superior Crafts, Advancing Indonesia,’ took place in Jakarta from September 13 to 17, 2023.

The event featured 300 booths showcasing a wide variety of craft products, including fashion, accessories, jewelry, and home decor, representing the best of Indonesian craftsmanship.

Acting Chairperson of the Jakarta Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda), Mirdiyanti, stated that the Kriyanusa 2023 exhibition was a crucial opportunity for artisans and small-medium enterprises (SMEs) to expand their market reach globally.

"The DKI Jakarta Province is honored to host Kriyanusa 2023. We are grateful that Jakarta's artisans have received guidance from Dekranas, and this year they are ready to showcase their finest works,” she said at the Jakarta Convention Center on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Jakarta Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM), Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, highlighted that Jakarta’s artisan products have distinctive qualities that can compete with top products from other provinces.

"Many outstanding products are on display, such as Betawi Batik, crafts, and Betawi souvenirs. All of these are works of artisans affiliated with Dekranasda DKI Jakarta. A total of 20 selected products from five city regions are being showcased,” she explained.

Additionally, Elisabeth introduced internationally recognized Dekranasda DKI products that are ready for export.

Some of these products have even passed curation for display at a world-class fashion event, Paris Fashion Week.

The featured products include Cristin Wu shoes, Long Story Short bags, and Ellie Han crafts.

"We hope this event will provide motivation, innovation, and enhance the competitiveness of Dekranasda artisans’ products,” Elisabeth added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Dekranas' Business Management Division, Sri Suparni Bahlil Lahadalia, emphasized that Kriyanusa is an annual event aimed at promoting Indonesian craft products.

"This event represents Dekranas’ commitment to developing the capacity of craft entrepreneurs, fostering the creation and development of local craft products, and preserving the cultural heritage of Indonesia’s diverse regions,” she stated.

The opening ceremony of Kriyanusa 2023 was a lively celebration featuring various performances, including a medley dance and a special appearance by singer Andien Aisyah alongside Dekranas officials and regional Dekranasda chairpersons from across Indonesia.

The opening ceremony continued with a batik-making demonstration (mencanting) led by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo as the Patron of Dekranas.

The Kriyanusa 2023 event also featured talk shows, art performances, craft demonstrations, and a fashion show.

The exhibition is expected to be a stepping stone for Indonesian SMEs to enter the global market.

With support from the government and various stakeholders, Indonesian SMEs are being encouraged to compete with products from other countries.
