jateng.jpnn.com, SOLO – The Chairperson of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas), Wury Ma’aruf Amin, stated that Indonesian artisans will continue to endure despite the current uncertainty in the global economy. She made this statement during the opening ceremony of the 44th Dekranas Anniversary celebration at Hotel Alila Solo on Wednesday (15/5).

This achievement is the result of collaboration between artisans, designers, academics, media, MSME players, and the government, all of whom continue to promote Indonesian products on the global stage. However, Wury emphasized that moving forward, Indonesia’s craft industry will face significant challenges due to global economic fluctuations.
"The ongoing global economic situation is a test for all of us,” she stated.

Wury asserted that despite the instability in the global economy, Indonesian handicraft products have the potential to survive. However, the key to sustainability lies in creativity and perseverance among industry stakeholders.
She highlighted three key aspects: developing skills, maintaining product quality, and expanding marketing networks both nationally and internationally.
"Equally important, we must also focus on environmental sustainability, welfare, and the regeneration of artisans,” she explained.

Wury expressed hope that by continuing these efforts, Indonesia’s cultural heritage can be preserved and further developed.
