Solo (ANTARA) – Renowned designer Wignyo Rahardi showcased several collections at the 44th Anniversary celebration of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas) in Solo, Central Java, on Wednesday.

During the celebration, Wignyo presented his collection titled Besanan.

Besanan is inspired by the term besanan, which signifies the union of two families through marriage. The Besanan theme in the fashion show represents the fusion of two cultures—Sumatran culture, represented by songket fabric, and Javanese culture, represented by batik fabric—combined into a single outfit.

Interestingly, besides being worn by models, Wignyo's collection was also donned by several wives of government officials, including the Chairperson of the Pulau Taliabu Regency PKK Mobilization Team, North Maluku Province, Zahra Yolanda Aliong Mus, and the wife of the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Sri Suparni Bahlil Lahadalia.

On this occasion, Zahra expressed her pride in wearing Wignyo's fashion collection in front of First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo.

“Thank you for trusting me to wear this outfit and showcase it in front of Ibu Iriana and the esteemed guests,” she said.

She also hoped that through this event, MSMEs across Indonesia could continue to progress, grow, and make Indonesian products more widely recognized.

Meanwhile, at the event, Pulau Taliabu Regency also showcased several regional signature products, including Bacan stone, batik, woven hats, and tongkat setan (devil’s stick).

“These are the unique characteristics of Pulau Taliabu Regency,” she added.
