WIDEAZONE.com, JAKARTA | The National Crafts Council [Dekranas] held an Affordable Basic Food Bazaar to welcome the holy month of Ramadan 1445 Hijri/2024 AD, which is also part of the 44th-anniversary celebration of Dekranas. The event took place at Rumah Kriya Asri Dekranas, Jalan Ampera Raya No. 1000, South Jakarta, on Sunday, March 3, 2024.

The event was officially opened by Dekranas Chairperson Wury Ma’ruf Amin, accompanied by Executive Chairperson Tri Tito Karnavian and the 44th Dekranas Anniversary Celebration Committee Chairperson, Loemongga Agus Gumiwang. Several Dekranas officials and local residents also attended the event.

"This affordable basic food bazaar aims to provide the local community around Rumah Kriya Asri Dekranas with access to essential food supplies at affordable prices,” said Loemongga.

Loemongga stated that this initiative is a form of appreciation for the community’s support in advancing national craftsmanship.

The Chairperson of the 44th Dekranas Anniversary Social Service, Liza Mustafa, explained that this event is part of a series of celebrations leading up to the peak event on May 15, 2024, in Solo.

"With the theme ‘Growing Together, Advancing the Nation’s Heritage,’ the 44th Dekranas Anniversary aims to foster a sense of unity among Indonesian artisans,” she stated.

Through various activities such as training, mentoring, exhibitions, and access to financing, Dekranas strives to create a creative entrepreneurial ecosystem for Indonesian artisans.

This event serves as a concrete step in supporting Indonesian artisans while promoting the spirit of solidarity and sharing during the holy month of Ramadan.

"Through the Affordable Basic Food Bazaar, we hope to make a positive contribution to Dekranas’s mission and role. The bazaar is a beneficial effort to ease the economic burden of the community, especially in obtaining essential goods at affordable prices,” said Wury during the opening.

This affordable basic food initiative is intended for around 500 residents who have received distribution coupons from local neighborhood heads.

Essential goods are available in total packages worth IDR 250,000, which can be purchased for only IDR 50,000.
